Consider this scenario: You’re stopped by a street gang. They tell you that if you go to the nearest park and do the chicken dance, they *might* not rob you tomorrow. (they interpret that as you asking them not to) …however, if you go to the nearest water fountain and do the chacha, they will interpret that as you asking them to rob you tomorrow… By performing their little ritual at all, are you NOT contributing to the illusion that their ritual is legitimate/ permissible?? When you vote, you are *actively participating* in a ritual that pretends to alter right and wrong; you are contributing to the illusion that it is a rightful means to make immoral decisions. “If you vote, you have no right to complain.” —George Carlin
I was using AppVerifier + Obtanium… but now it’s spazzing out. I’m still in progress of switching & trying to learn Graphene
Working on that last piece ;)
“Voting damages legitimacy?” “…Not voting just legitimises any result…?” I assume this was an accidental twist of words
Thank you for sharing & clarifying. You strike me as an intelligent person, so I’m not surprised to find we’re on the same page. Lots of great quotes! It reminds me of another quote I found early in my journey to becoming awake: “A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.” —Milton Friedman I now hate Miltons statism, but he’s right here, just like all the others you’ve quoted too.
Perhaps there’s a miscommunication of terms — someone earlier made a similar comment. Maybe you mean equal opportunity? Equal rights?
