SLAVE TALK: If there would just be electoral integrity… If we would just protest… If we just require warrants first… If we just get (Person A) in office… If we just write to Congress… NONE of this changes the fact that NO OTHER HUMAN OWNS YOU! …no political scribbles, no magic political ritual voodoo, no majority preference, etc changes this fact. Pushing for “freedom” in this boot-licking way is not only useless, it’s counterproductive. Stop strengthening the perception that government is in any way legitimate.
“If people can’t be peaceful, there may as well be a giant group violently robbing, dominating, and controlling everyone.” I cannot disagree more. …BUT when you emphasize educating, this is 100% correct. The *only* way to sustainably free people from guaranteed victimization is to undo the indoctrination; help enough people understand self-ownership.
Anarchy does not guarantee peace; it’s merely the consistent understanding that the infringement of one’s rights is immoral… whether done by private thugs, or a group calling themselves “government.” For instance, I am against murder. Whether the murderer wears street cloths or wears a badge makes no difference. Consistently standing against such a wrong does not mean murders will cease, unfortunately.
Yay for Constitutional Republics with a Bill of Rights! Just like: ✅ The Republic of China ✅ The Weimar Republic ✅ The Democratic People's Republic of North Korea ✅ The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
This is merely the framework to determine what is moral and what is not. An infringement on self ownership is therefore known to be immoral. Anarchists do not believe in a utopia, but simply oppose such immorality consistently. This means we understand it’s wrong to infringe on individual rights whether such be done by private thugs or by “government.” Government is simply the largest and most severe aggressor on the planet, which inherently *guarantees* infringements of individual rights. They currently get away with it merely because too many people assume this group has the right to commit wrongs. Now to answer your question very directly… You are not obligated to allow yourself to be victimized, so you have a right to self defense. Since you have a right to defend yourself, others have the right to defend you as well. Further, you also may have the right to justice/restitution. There is no guarantee one won’t be wronged or that justice will be served, but this is the exact same scenario as today with the existence of a ruling class. The difference is that the ruling class quite literally only *guarantees* you *will* be victimized. Government does control you, exploit you, decide how much of what you earn you are ‘allowed’ to keep, and lord over you by threats of violence. Try trading with another individual, owning a vehicle with dark tinted windows, cutting someone’s hair, selling food or beverages, building a deck, earning an income, owning land, going fishing, leaving the ‘country,’ etc.
And if they haven’t already prior, they’ve promised to be willing to do so now
Thank you for the push back! First, I’d like to clarify, the definition of anarchy is no rulers (just as others mentioned earlier). It is based upon the understanding of self-ownership. As for the stewardship/ guardian role: If a self-owning human is currently unable to articulate their will, in an informed manner, no one has the right to make life-altering changes to that person (essentially assuming that persons will.) At best, someone may work only toward the natural preservation of another until they do have the ability to fully express their will. Parents gain ownership of the steward/guardian role by homesteading it. They are the first to care for the child …especially the mother. Governments cannot be stewards for two reasons from this basis. First, no one can claim to be “stewards” of already mature humans who are indeed capable of fully expressing their will. Second, just as one cannot gain ownership of an object by mere decree or calling “dibs,” no person nor group called government, can declare itself rightful stewards. Therefore, the family guardians role should not infringe on anyone’s right of self-ownership; there are no rulers. Government cannot be a steward by definition and has no right to be a ruler over another, just as no one does.
False. But also, cowards do nothing & hero’s do something.
Only slaves think they need permission to be free
“Legal” or not, theft is always immoral & just to resist.
