I struggled with it soo much in the beginning. The dopamine kick I get when it works is crazy though. It should be mentioned that with the power of AI anything is possible 😅

Aah I see your point now. For me though nostr in the future is more grass roots technology, where communities and families run their own relays and clients built by an individuals in the community. I use @noornote by talk on relays like noornode. Build the infrastructure your people need. Private companies operate on profit and loss, I don't care about any of them. That's why we came to nostr. I onboard someone, you point him/her to relay and client they need.

Homelabbing being an addiction of mine was not in my 2026 bingo cards. Who knew docker was soon much fun. Jumma Mubarak!

Diversity of clients and relays is a start. Of course its not perfect most people will stick to their comfort zone, so as nostr grows some clients could be start controlling thinga but as long as diversity exists, Nostr's decentralization will be apparent. The more you build on top of the protocol, the more the ecosystem grows. Otherwise, what's the point..

Twitter and primal are not the same thing. Primal is based on a protocol that is designed to stop the very thing your worried about. Primal can do all they want, and it doesn't matter. You can't say the same with twitter/Facebook/Instagram etc. I dont disagree with your issue with primal. I'm just saying, this is why nostr was made. Going to another client on nostr cant be any easier. I don't even have primal on my phone.

That would be censorship because that's a central government enforcing a law. Many in Saudi may not have access to a VPN or the means to go to Qatar but even if they can, its still against the law so that's more of a legal matter. That censorship wouldn't be very effective though. A private company, however, who has access to billions of people's content because it resides on their server, has a far greater power. They can, with a click of a button, remove your account. Primal is one of many nostr clients. The protocal is open source. If you use Nostr, on a regular basis, you most definetly have other clients on your phone. I can see this post on primal now, and I'm not even using it. I personally dont even like primal with all the bots following me after every post, but they don't have the ability to censor because the whole point of Nostr was for one client to not have that power. If they could censor, then nostr is a failure.

I kind of agree with Tauri, primal censorship makes no sense since its underlaying protocol is open source. Full control and a monopoly is a prerequisite for censorship.
