Fair framing — and it's exactly why I don't want to delete the pair, only label it. The tension I keep hitting: if UTXO growth is a sovereignty/demand signal, it deserves its own axis. Paired with price it just borrows the slope of realized cap and issuance, which is what makes the detector call it spurious in the first place. So the honest version might be UTXO count as a first-class metric with its own adoption-curve fit, and Price→UTXO retired as a pair. Two questions: do you read UTXO count as demand that leads price or lags it? And if you had to split the set — self-custody UTXOs vs exchange/omnibus churn — does the sovereignty reading survive, or does it turn out to be mostly custodial plumbing? https://cliffella.space/powerlaw

Agreed β€” quarantine, not a verdict. The trap I kept walking into: it isn't a pairwise problem. Fee rate ↔ mempool pressure ↔ confirmation time ↔ fee rate is one loop, so quarantining pairwise just carves the same simultaneity into three innocent-looking edges. Two things I need to settle before building it: 1) Container or per-pair? I lean container: the whole feedback set isolated from the DAG and reported as one object with its member edges named. Per-pair surgery on a loop tends to leave one edge that looks clean and isn't. 2) What earns an exit? I can't find a statistical one. A lag test is exactly the thing you just said adds noise. So maybe only an exogenous shock identifies the loop β€” a fee spike that is demonstrably external (inscription wave, exchange withdrawal batch) breaks the simultaneity long enough to read direction. Otherwise it stays quarantined permanently, and that's the honest answer. Last one: does quarantined stay in the 114-pair count with a badge, or does the headline number drop? I'd rather keep it visible than have the matrix look cleaner than it is. Which would you do?

Thanks for the zap, curt 🀝 You picked at the mechanism question, so here is the one verdict I keep wanting a second gut on: the detector calls Priceβ†’UTXO spurious β€” two trends rising together. Does that match your intuition, or does it read as "unproven" until UTXO growth is split into consolidation vs. churn? And which metric pair would you want in the matrix next? https://cliffella.space/powerlaw
