Earlier today, during a meeting with a technical platform, the conversation was broached by one of the attendees asking me about my glasses. Made for a neat conversation to talk about the Brilliant Labs Frame glasses. Especially since right after that meeting I would be sitting in the Reddit AMA where Brilliant Labs was talking about the brand new Halo glasses they announced earlier today https://brilliant.xyz/ I really like what they are doing overall. That doesn’t mean I am such the developer that I’m able to build exactly for these glasses. The way that I would like. Part of me has an analogy to Replit in my head where i should be able to describe functionality and then use that scaffolding and BL’s SDK and docs to make the integrations I desire. We aren’t there yet. I’m not there yet. But seems even in this learning, am giving folks a sense of what it might look like to author a bit more of their connected experiences.
A Website, An App, or An Agent https://www.avancee.agency/2025/07/29/a-website-an-app-or.html
Thoughts while playing/continuing with an idea for my Brilliant Labs Frame 👓 So, am back to playing with an idea for a potential “app” for Frame 👓 . And having gotten some neat “discussion” thru my idea with ChatGPT, am getting ready for the fun part, actually attempting the build. Realized a few things which sit more in the “I wish” category more than anything else… I can “chat” with an instance of an LLM thru my glasses, but I cannot append the programming to/of the glasses thru such a chat. There’s no current “switch to developer mode” kind of interface within the Noa chats if you will. And even if I could, such a mode would need certain safe guards before and even after making changes to the glasses (ability to roll-back. preview/show-me-as-if-state in the chat or thru the HUD, etc). That goes a bit further (as if something like Replit were a part of nearly any chat-based LLM interface I guess). So I step back some… …there’s not a means (yet?) in Noa to add/edit scripts in the app itself. I imagine something under “Hack” where one gets an ability to add new scripts, with a means to test them there before “pushing to prod” in the glasses. Where there’s maybe a “do you wish your hacks to be backed up to your Git/GitHub as you iterate” type of function. And then maybe a “share to Brilliant Labks repo for inclusion into community scripts” type of function. I thought of a simpler “add script to Frame” before all of this. Now, I’m down the path of rethinking whether apps/scripts matter if a platform is this malleable. Just my mind stretching the evening some.

Still trying to navigate things here… I get parts of it, but haven’t quite put into it what seems to make nostr click for others. Part of it has to do with me. Part of it has to do with understanding the purpose of this transport layer. It seems like it’s a communication interface, but it’s probably more of a transaction. Interface and communication is just the “way to get there“ As I look at the human design book on my table… And consider my leanings as a projector, it may very well be that I am here on purpose. But I’m waiting for an invitation to something else.
