I put work in quotes because I don’t plan on selling my time for money again. I’m learning a lot of basic homesteading skills and some cabinetry. Practical work, and yes my boys also help out sometimes, but they’re usually not that interested. I also started to learn guitar about a year and a half ago and I think it’s nice that they’ve seen the progress and the amount of time I practice. Recently, I picked up the camera again, I was a documentary photographer in my youth and, next to family life, that was one of my most fruitful periods. When they’re older I’ll start working on long term projects again, which would take me away from home for extended periods. Looking forward to seeing what you do next on Nostr.
I appreciate the note and can relate, I am in a similar place in life. @RobBrinded talks a lot about the hamster wheel, if you aren’t familiar with his work. My boys are getting bigger and I plan on continuing to spend most of my time with them until they choose their peers over me, at which point I’ll return to “work”. For now my hobby is developing skills for use in that next stage. I often think that I’m not doing enough, not present enough with the kids, but I’ve thought that way throughout my life and I’ve come to accept it and move on. The thing I’m constantly amazed by is how it’s always enough for my kids. I’m super fortunate to have such an understanding and loving family. It somehow all just worked out fine. For now… Sending positive vibes.
I just harvested one of my plants. This was the first year I grew tobacco and I never realized how sticky and huge they would become. Almost took over the polytunnel.
Oh, good to know. That is a bit confusing/misleading. I hope the team at white noise are successful, I like to have an alternative to Signal which doesn’t need a phone number.
It might be more applicable today than in 50yrs when a 3sat/Vb transaction will be too expensive for regular people to transact on chain. But by then, if enough of us run a node now, there will be enough nodes to prevent centralized entities taking over the network. Does that make sense. I’m also going through the Fiat Standard on the podcast.
I’m not exactly sure what read receipts are, but I get one check mark when I’ve sent something and two checks when the messsge is read. If you’re not happy with the developers you can focus your energy on White Noise, maybe it’ll eventually become a better messaging app.
I saw your video on terrain theory, and I from my cursory research, this type of fasting aligns with that idea.
What kind of fast? I just finished my first 40hr dry fast and am reading a bunch about extended dry fasting. Working my way up to a five or seven day dry fast eventually. The hardest part for me is exiting the fast.
