while weāre feeling presumptuous Mike, tell me youāre a city slicker with no survival skills without telling me⦠I spend half the week in a city of 3 million people. I bring friends and family out to the citadel all the time to learn and help and enjoy nature. not to mention 2 hired farmers on site daily to help. Neighbors are not far, we being each other fruit we grow. weāre building communal outdoor spaces to share with lots of people. the whole point is building a communal retreat in nature. give the vlogs a rest and go touch grass Mike
buddy drops a āquoted in time magazineā āmy work is read more than all of nostrā then accuses me of status games š You started it with a quote post remember? I caught your contrarian little take of the day. Should have recognized it for what it was and ignored, you were just practicing writing, and writing about things you donāt understand, evidenced by what you wrote. Keep blogging man, always good to have more philosophers.
so you stacked bitcoin, now what? scoop some land with a natural water source and a view. anywhere. remote is good. low to no building regulations or nosy neighbors is good. doesnāt have to be expensive or have infrastructure or buildings at all, just a campable spot you enjoy and can develop and live on in the future start small. itās the project of a lifetime. your descendants will thank you. worst case scenario you have a private campsite for you and yours. best case you build a citadel community.
Iām glad
he literally canāt imagine š pontificating the end of the world from a couch in LA to absolutely no one. has no idea where any of his food or water comes from, yet posts as though he knows the first thing about civilization building or community
2 months ago vs now. years to go! we now have internet, solar power, potable water, a backup water system in the works, a clean humble bathroom with a shower, an outdoor camp style kitchen with a refrigerator, lights, and a lot more waterproofing and foundational security on the structure. We have no permission. i can now live onsite pretty comfortably, which is a 0 to 1 improvement for the build. The goal is not material things but moreso delineating spaces and increasing quality of life in the citadel. soon Iāll be building some walls and beginning to close the structure, installing a much more robust water system, windows, conduit, all in due process. never underestimate the compounding effect of small consistent effort or the negative compounding effects of neglect. most days i donāt feel I make tremendous progress, and often discover new problems that need attention, delaying timelines. all part of the fun, the magic is just spending time outside building. most people would probably opt for the furnished condo or the single family mortgage. for me i think the end goal is a multiyear art project, during which Iām going to learn how to build all kinds of things. to look at the world around you, and have a generally correct understanding of how everything was constructed, thatās the superpower i want.
