Yes, I have argued ad nauseum with people on Mastodon/Lemmy who are advocates of decentralization and privacy, but ironically don’t like Bitcoin or other crypto because their soy diet makes them think the tech is boiling the oceans.

For now. But its purpose is for the crowd who are cypher/cyberpunks and support decentralization and who don’t want or care about bitcoin/crypto related topics. With those things capable of being removed it should help attract more users. Nostr clients really should have a short setup walkthrough and ask if you like bitcoin/crypto and other topics and if not then it hides anything that has those mentioned. Otherwise, I think we’re doomed to being mostly what we are now in terms of niche user base.
