Also, it’s ugly. On the plus side, you could almost fit a human between that house and the neighbor’s. Only an idiot would buy in a neighborhood this packed. Your neighbor’s foundation problem becomes your foundation problem. Your sewage problem becomes your neighbors sewage problem. All kinds of stupid going on in these new “packed-in” neighborhoods.
It’s even worse than that. It’s paying someone interest while you post your bitcoin as collateral for fiat.
Like giving root access to a raccoon and saying “don’t do anything while I’m gone”
Yet more proof of culture!
Went from “no banks” and “not your keys, not your coins” to… nothing says freedom and sovereignty like lines of credit from a centralized platform Bitcoin-backed lines of credit = margin loans in a hoodie, no matter what influencers or CEOs tell you. Nobody has status in bitcoin.
It does.
It was a fumble, no doubt. But I suspect Apple will still win the long game, and in a blowout. Siri is awful today, and yet it will handle billions of requests today alone! Why? 1. Billions of active devices 2. Deep integration with daily workflows (messages, photos, email, OS-level actions) 3. Hardware + software ecosystem The winning experience won’t be: “Ask a smarter chatbot” It’ll be: “My iPhone just does things for me without asking” I would also add that the real monetization favors Apple, because unlike Anthropic or ChatGPT, AI doesn’t need to be a standalone profit center for Apple. Moreover, as there AI offering gets better, it actually increases retention in there hardware + software ecosystem. Finally, I’ll say this: the bar for “good enough” for the average user is MUCH lower than Nostr or Twitter thinks.
What is an AI data center? It’s parallelizable and instantly deployable “cognitive labor” that can be metered/billed down to the micro-unit (tokens). And if that is true, then this capex buildout is the foundation of a new economic layer. What’s that worth? A pre-AI economic stack was: 1. Natural resources (extraction) 2. Infrastructure (energy, internet) 3. Compute / industrial production 4. Platforms 5. Applications 6. Human labor AI doesn’t just sit inside one layer, it collapses and rewrites multiple layers of this stack.
No seed oils used, I hope…
lol. I wonder if this is the more immediate “alignment problem.” Meaning, who does the AI truly work for, the end user or the company it collects money for?
