The American Heart Association released an official Scientific Statement recognizing AI-enabled opportunistic detection of coronary artery calcium (CAC) on routine chest CT scans. Currently CAC is noted on routine chest CTs at most centers without an exact quantification of the amount of calcium, however new automated AI algorithms for CAC scoring are changing this.
