had a meps! chain-retail store experience shopping y'day. retail clerk: "may I get your phone number?" me: "no." clerk: "you don't have one?!" me: "I'm not giving it to you" clerk: "you're missing out big time on discounts" me: "does not matter. I'm not giving it to you" wish it was less-surprising that their first conclusion about my refusal to submit my data to them was that I didn't have a phone, rather than I might prefer to protect myself from their corporate data-greedy masters?! meps! at least I did manage to stay polite anyway and not actually say out loud: gfy! #privacy_matters
