I have zero interest in ordinals or any of the other types of data packing protocols, I think they are a complete waste of time. Am I going to waste my time signalling to the world that I don't like/want them by making a useless fork proposal that doesn't stop them anyway? Absolutely not.

Miner concentration makes direct submission easier, but I don't think that's the crux of the issue. Even with perfectly decentralised mining, you still can't prevent arbitrary data. You can only make particular encodings or relay paths less convenient. Different relay policies, alternative relay networks, direct submission, and entirely different encodings all remain available. The existence of BIP-110-compatible encoding schemes demonstrates that the capability itself isn't removed. Posturing around whether or not you like or agree with it is a fools errand.
