Didn't mean to sound patronizing, sorry. These things are often sold without any warnings and sometimes with fake laser protection glasses, and many people doesn't know how dangerous they are...

Please be careful and either wear real laser safety goggles for the wavelength and power emitted, or leave the room before starting it and wait until it's done before re-entering. A single tiny reflective surface, in an unsuitable angle, on what you're marking is all it takes for permanent eye damage.

The cheap ones without internet connection or an app, that are "stupid" and just drive around randomly, if they still are sold. Crappy batteries last time I checked though, old NiMH technology, which can be decent, but certainly wasn't in those, it was lowest imaginable quality.

I don't think that opinion is unpopular. But media and others want everyone to believe it is.

And someone who has bitcoin and is willing to pay it for your goods or services.

Let's hope this isn't too true, since if it's too late this time, it's likely too late literally forever.

Depending on how it's implemented, that could be great: the Eurocrats get to feel that they have actually done something (even if it's useless in reality), so that they leave the question alone, at least for a while, while E2E encryption is safe. But it wouldn't surprise me if they manage to turn even this proposal into mass surveillance or censorship of other messages somehow... I think that what they say is the reason and what is actually the reason for all this are completely different things...

Same to you.

BankID is happening in Sweden, has been for over a decade, more and more. Knowing how things are likely to be abused is not waste of time, but an indication to what direction to not build, in order to not build in an open invitation for it, but instead do it another way, or what to watch out for and attempt to speak out against when it comes to what's happening in society, etc. A basic safety/security precaution, much like "worrying" about not mixing chlorine-containing bleach and certain other cleaning products.

Given your question for a point, I guess you want an actionable answer. There is none. I'm not suggesting to abandon or change Nostr, it isn't a technical problem, but a societal and/or governmental one, depending on circumstances. Having an identity isn't necessarily a problem, being forced to verify it for every occasion is. The example of jobs was to tie it with the current British example. For a better example, read the post I wrote on Stacker News a while ago, BankID - evil made easy: https://stacker.news/items/402596

I think it's mixed. Some experts lie blatantly, but many others think they're right, sometimes because they base their "expertise" off the stuff the ones who lie say and write.

Is something strange going on? A few days ago, same day or the day after talked about the paper regarding the Lone Star tick that can cause meat allergy, Swedish public service (AKA government (AKA theft) funded) radio had a segment mentioning that tick-caused meat allergy has increased in Sweden (no surprise mentioning the warmer weather due to global warming as a factor). I had never heard that the ticks we have in Sweden could cause meat allergy. Is this some kind of campaign, for example to prepare people for mass outbreaks of meat allergy, or as a coming "explanation" of a side effect of a certain medical product that was pushed heavily a few years ago? Is this something that anyone in any other country has read/seen/heard on mainstream media recently? Also asking given the nature of his research. (Hope I got the right person, I haven't interacted with him on Nostr before.)

About Me

Ask me questions about electronics on the circuit level. I don't know about Raspberry Pi:s, programming modern microcontrollers etc, but I do know about resistors, capacitors, inductors, voltage regulators, op-amps, digital logic, and so on and so forth. I can probably help you repair something or build something. I also know a thing or two about mechanics. If my service is free or paid is up to you! Nostr and Lightning is new to me, I'm trying to learn, so please excuse any errors on my part regarding it. I live in Sweden.
