The other chart I am monitoring is BCH. A break out above USD 550 would set the target around ATH.
We'll see some ultra bullish chart setups for XMR/ETH and XMR/BTC in the next weeks. This will be explosive, when starting to move.
This will also be a deflective move as Monero after a quarter of consolidation is ready to move into four digit territory.
RSI, MACD and PSAR together paint a clear bottom pattern for Bitcoin. This plays out like 2018. Bitcoin will pump to USD 100k in the next weeks. Then consolidate around USD 85k for half a year. 2027 should see us at USD 200k.
Liquidity is coming back to Monero. CEX not needed. Thorchain Serai Hyperliquid via custodial XMR1 (mind the risk). Bisq and RetoSwap enabling fiat conversion.
I know many chartists think there will come another down turn for Bitcoin landing it in the USD 50k region. I have my doubts. More likely seems to be a come back to 100k, oscillating between 80k and 100k until the end of the year with a short lived shake out to the high 60 or low 70k region and a strong bull market starting in 2027. Bitcoin is not the only chart you should watch when judging market sentiment. ETH for example perfectly reached the targets that connect the last bear markets. It is doubtful that in the current market environment we should see a lower target than after the 2021 buying frenzy. This is now a much more controlled market, mainly played by institutional investors. Also notice how stablecoin dominance paints a top signal.
Warning regarding KuCoin. KuCoin is now the censors next best tool after giving up on Binance. We can see similar chart patterns that imply price suppression. Price suppression comes at a cost - that is - exposing ones exchange to insolvency risk. Treat KuCoin with caution. Especially as it dominates the CEX market. Withdraw all coins from KuCoin. Watch out for price diversion or withdrawal halts. Study the list I shared in another post. There are plenty of solutions to exchange Monero safely and without giving up privacy.

Despite them ideally being just one step between a trade from one self-custodial wallet to another they still function as a third party that can hold or freeze transactions temporarily or permanently. To combat KYC and confiscation/theft of funds risk it is recommended to use them only for smaller amounts. Taking risks into account they can be used to route around CEX/CRYPTOBANKS. Be aware that instant swap exchanges often come with higher fees, shotgun KYC or are selective scams like "Changelly". Most of them depend on external liquidity (or are fronts for CEX), which means they will halt or freeze trades just as often as CEX (main culprits are ChangeNow and FixedFloat). In times of bigger market movements many of those sites will abandon trades that are not favorable to them. You can use an aggregator like **Trocador.app (🔒 .onion / 🔒 .i2p)** that has a security bond for transactions up to a certain amount and gives you a clear indication about competitive pricing and KYC risk. Other aggregators are **CypherGoat (🔒 .onion / 🔒 .i2p)**, **orangefren.com** (🔒 .onion / 🔒 .i2p), **kyc.rip** (🔒 .onion) Another highly recommended resource to evaluate exchange risk is * **kycnot.me** (🔒 .onion / ~~🔒 .i2p~~) _____ | Non-custodial CEX | Instant exchange risk | status - If you don't self-custody, it means you entrust your stack, in some cases your life savings, with a third party that may or may not have ulterior motives, may or may not be a scam or may or may not be controlled or extorted by a rogue government. The process of learning to become self-sovereign might include some pain. But as crypto history shows us, keeping "your" coins in the hands of a custodian is a 100% guarantee to set yourself and the community up for failure. # What exchanges to use then? There are plenty of better (more secure, private, trustless) however still more inconvenient solutions that are preferable over using KYC/CEX. Those often come at a higher price as security and privacy have a price, but not necessarily at a lower speed. Indeed starting from zero, signing-up for a cumbersome and intimidating KYC process will often take days or weeks sometimes placing holds on funds while a DEX like Haveno will give you access to coins in under an hour and coming at the benefit of not giving up your right to privacy. | Exchanges | Trust level | Exchange method | Remarks | | --------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------ | ------------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------- | | BasicSwapDEX | High | Desktop Atomic swaps | open source, ✅ trustless | | Bisq v1 | High | Desktop P2P DEX (🔒 Tor only) | open source, TailsOS support, escrow + security deposit, arbitration | | Eigenwallet *fka UnstoppableSwap* (🔒 .onion) | High | Desktop Atomic swaps | open source, ✅ trustless | | RetoSwap *(based on Haveno)* | High | Desktop P2P DEX (🔒 Tor only) | open source, TailsOS support, escrow + security deposit, arbitration | | Robosats (🔒 .onion) | Medium | Web P2P market | open source, "Lightning network" based market place | | AxeSwap | Experimental | Atomic swaps | open source, orderbook trading | | DawnSwap *(based on Haveno)* | Low (*relatively new) | Desktop P2P DEX (🔒 Tor only) | open source, TailsOS support, escrow + security deposit, arbitration | | Haveno Nova *(based on Haveno)* | Low (*relatively new) | Desktop P2P DEX (🔒 Tor only) | open source, TailsOS support, escrow + security deposit, arbitration | | SeraiDEX (alpha) | n/a | AMM (automatic market makers) | open source, liquidity providers exposed to potential hacks | | ~~Paxful~~ | ~~Medium (winded down 11/2025)~~ | ~~Web P2P market~~ | ~~centralized server ⚠️~~ | | ~~AgoraDesk (🔒 .onion / 🔒 .i2p)~~ | ~~High (winded down 05/2024)~~ | ~~Web P2P market~~ | ~~centralized server ⚠️, closed down~~ | | ~~LocalMonero (🔒 .onion / 🔒 .i2p)~~ | ~~High (winded down 05/2024)~~ | ~~Web P2P market~~ | ~~centralized server ⚠️, closed down~~ | | ~~Samourai Wallet~~ | ~~High (ceased operations 04/2024)~~ | ~~Mobile Atomic swaps~~ | ~~open source, ✅ trustless~~ | ## Not trusted - **AVOID** until further notice | Exchanges | Trust level | Exchange method | Remarks | | --------------------------------- | ----------- | ---------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Bitania (🔒 .onion) | Low | Web P2P market | relatively unknown, centralized server ⚠️, untrusted operator⚠️ | | Bitpapa | Low | Web P2P market | relatively unknown, centralized server ⚠️, untrusted operator ⚠️ | | Bitrica (🔒 .onion) | Low | Web P2P market | relatively unknown, centralized server ⚠️, untrusted operator ⚠️ | | OpenMonero (🔒 .onion / 🔒 .i2p) | Low | Mobile, Web P2P market | open source, relatively unknown, centralized server ⚠️, untrusted operator⚠️, hacked and deposits stolen -no full repayment | | XMRGlobal (🔒 .onion) | Low | Web P2P market | relatively unknown, centralized server ⚠️, untrusted operator ⚠️ | # Alternative ways of acquiring Monero It may sound strange to list alternative methods of acquiring Monero in a post about exchanges. Monerorun is upcoming. It is a yearly event taking place on 18th April - Monero's birthday. Take your coins off exchanges now. This is a community audit of proclaimed reserves. Inform people about the necessity to self-custody Monero.
Petro-Bitcoin means speculation is over. Whatever gains Bitcoin achieves from here on will be based on economic use. Not every trader is prepared to boringly price Bitcoin according to fundamentals instead of speculation.
We saw a bottoming phase in Monero from end of 2020 into 2022 that ended in tears because of Binance pulling strings. This time Monero should not be held back by paper CEX. KuCoin used the power vacuum to place itself at the center of Monero trading. Thanks to the advent of Serai and Thorchain paper XMR effects should be neutral from here onwards. I expect some price action into the next week as Monerorun looms over CEX balance sheets and Zcash pumpers seek an easy exit.
