Two beautiful songs today... back from the 20th century... feels so funny to write that. No videos, but mp3s. I'm posting these two songs because I added them to a year end cd that I burned back in the day. I recently listened to it and loved how the two songs play together... one of pessimistic desperation and one of optimistic hope. That's kind of where I find myself today. I also like that "I Give Up" was released before "Smile". Never give up... stay hopeful... stay humble... and stack sats. Sidenote: too freakin funny... I went to upload the mp3 files and received the nostr popup "you can only upload images and video files"... lol. so I converted them. But then also realize that most people alive today don't even know what an mp3 files is... nothing like staying up all night with your buddies, and madly downloading tunes from napster... that was so fun. #5 - Zero 7 (featuring Sia) - Somersault I'm a huge Sia fan... her voice touches my soul. When I first heard her, I thought she was the lead singer for Zero 7... then I realized she was only featured. Then "Some people have REAL problems" was released... and boom! She freakin' rocked it with tunes like "The Girl You Lost to Cocaine", but also struck the soul chord with the under-appreciated love-song-gone-wrong "Beautiful Calm Driving". Somersault is one of the greatest, rolling along, summer-time, feel good tunes out there... it keeps dancing along for almost seven minutes... sit down with a cold drink, preferably with someone you're romantic with, play this song and enjoy each others space... it will treat you right.
