I am a pleb and don't have that much money. I supported BIP110 because I hate spam. What lesson did I learn during this period? 1. We, the people who care for the future of Bitcoin, need to start investing in preserving Bitcoin as money as possible. BIP110 teaches us what not to do: force a change. 2. We need to start investing our energy in getting our hash rate up and keep mining a few blocks that follow the BIP110 rules. 3. When we have on our side 60%+ of the hash network, then we can retry to activate something like BIP110. 4. We need to test in testnet; the code needs to be fully functional, reviewed by a third party and Frontier AI. 5. The review needs to be openly published to get the trust of most of the Bitcoin network users on our side. 6. I believe the majority of users want spam reduced in the network, and I believe BIP110 was the solution, but our marketing was wrong this time. BIP110 is dead; long live BIP110.
