Selling #OpenSource apps should be normal especially as the licences allow it. BTW, the #SecurityNow podcast did two recent episodes on #browserfingerprinting. Personally, I don't like Snaps too but they're actually great for locking down the system. I managed a lab with 16 PCs running Ubuntu LTS on auto update for years without any issues. Not sure where you saw ads. I don't consider a couple of lines in the terminal about Ubuntu Pro free subscription with live patching an intrusive ad.
