I’ve played the field when first coming into the space and got burned more times than I can count so you can say I’m a bit skeptical of any newish project. I’d be cautious around anything that offers “smart contracts” and “DeFi”. In the past, these have gathered quite a following of scammers. There is also centralized risk here since mining this thing comes with heavy requirements as well as running a node. I also see mentions of missing block history as well which is never a good thing. I’d treat this like a casino 🎰 until time reveals all the gaps here.

Back in the 2017 bull run, I had a coworker who was convinced Ripple was going to be the global payment layer by 2020. Every day was #XRP evangelism: charts, partnerships, “bank adoption” hype, even a Ripple branded t-shirt he wore proudly in the office. His cubicle looked like a VC-backed altar to centralized disappointment. No matter how many times I explained it was a pre-mined, corporate driven, banker-friendly coin with the absolute worst evangelists behind it, he insisted it was “Bitcoin, but better.” I wish him nothing but the best.

I chose college over trade school because that’s what everyone said was “the smart move.” Four years, debt, and a piece of paper later… I realized I traded time, money, and freedom for a system designed to keep me plugged in. Meanwhile, Bitcoin was right there. I saw it in gaming chats, on forums—some dude tipping sats for skins or bragging about mining on his rig. I ignored it. Thought it was noise. But that was the opportunity. Cheaper than lunch. A parallel system being born in real time, and I missed it chasing credentials. They don’t teach you about opportunity cost in college. And they sure as hell don’t teach you about Bitcoin… at the moment.
