Would it be possible to build a secure messaging service on nostr that surpasses signal in terms of privacy? I'm thinking under the hood a private relay is running on one or both peer's phones, and messages are encrypted with PGP. Different relay for each chat. Or are there better ways to achieve this? Perhaps it's unnecessary.

This is so cool!

Nailed it. Requires the least government-funded infrastructure to boot.

Knowing how to drive is a good skill to have. That being said, personal automobility has only ever equaled freedom in an environment where big government funnels massive subsidies into car-oriented infrastructure, forces private property owners to provide a minimum number of parking stalls, and enforces strict low-density single-use zoning rules. The incentive provided by government to own a car has been powerful enough to shape an entire culture. It's so perverse that even the most freedom-minded among us think having multiple viable choices for how to move around our cities constitutes a loss of freedom.

I don't think trust has gone away to begin with. It's true that we don't need to trust a centralized entity for Bitcoin to work, but this, in turn enables trust in Bitcoin. Trust between individuals is as necessary as ever.

Car dependance. It is not even close to freedom.
