⚠ PSA, PLEASE READ ALL ⚠ 1. Bitcoin Knots 29.1 AND Bitcoin Core 29.1 are now available on the marketplace 🎉 2. Due to a bug in StartOS 0.3.5.1, we recommend stopping Bitcoin before updating. Otherwise, Bitcoin might get stuck in a "stopping" state. If this happens, the fix is to restart the server. 3. Due to another bug in StartOS 0.3.5.1, after updating Bitcoin, it will temporarily enter a "Needs Config" state. It does not need config. Just wait, it will go away in a few seconds. 4. Due to a bug in StartOS 0.3.5.1, Knots and Core will BOTH display as having an update available in the "Updates" tab. Don't worry, we are not trying to trick you into switching implementations. If you currently have Knots installed, updating to Core will fail. If you currently have Core installed, updating to Knots will fail. 5. To switch from Knots to Core, or from Core to Knots, follow these instructions: https://community.start9.com/t/installing-bitcoin-knots/1997/5
It's straight to 040, and no exact date. Testing well in alpha, public beta is next
Dud chill, it's just a simple UI bug that we have been very loud and transparent about. They share the same ID, so StartOS UI can't tell the difference. The one you installed is the one you have installed

Switching should not have resulting in any downtime. Does that mean you uninstalled Core then installed Knots and so now need to resync?
Since StartOS is dark-themed, we inverted the colors for cleaner visibility. Seemed like an appropriate move, at least more accurate than the orange Bitcoin B
What? Lightning (and all other Bitcoin dependents) work perfectly with Knots on StartOS, always save. No extra configuration needed.
There is no distinction. All our servers run StartOS. If you're not seeing the update it's either because you are on an outdated version of StartOS, or because you need to refresh the page.
Core generally uses the black and white icon in their branding, trying to respect that
There is a bug in 0351 where startOS cannot tell the difference between two services with the same ID. They need to have the same ID so that dependents, such as lightning, will be satisfied by either. This is fixed in the next release, but right now switching between Core and Knots is a bit confusing. See the video we provided in reply to your other post.
