So glad that you had the discernment to realize that something was off and get a 2nd opinion, as she probably wanted to make money off of the surgery; at the expense of your personal well-being. I also agree that a lot of docs these days now have god complexes where they seem themselves as beyond reproach, so yes there is that too along with the pharma corruption aka incentives. Not to mention the licensing cartel which revokes your license when you do something that saves lives but isn't the preferred way of doing things.
