You probably already understand that my criticism was more of a self-critique rather than about your work, which I actually consider extremely valuable. After all, nothing stops us from starting to experiment with networks and secondary devices until we gain enough confidence. Another key aspect, in my opinion, is being able to count on developer and advocate “proxies” who can self-host, even just for a small circle of close friends, in a federated, value-for-value mindset, which I believe is one of the hallmarks of open source technologies. 🙏

I’d say around 50–50 for me. When I’m creating content I’m definitely more comfortable on desktop, but mobile is still good enough that I can pretty much manage everything from there when I’m away from the keyboard.

Big shoutout to and his Orangepill App, such a clean, focused way to help Bitcoiners connect worldwide. Been using it for a couple of years now, and it’s amazing to see how much it’s grown. Sure, you can use TG or other “free” tools to get similar results, but that small subscription fee is totally worth it for the quality, signal, and overall experience. Sometimes I wonder if NOSTR should evolve in a similar direction, maybe through dedicated relays where a few sats of subscription could keep the space clean from bots and scammers. I’m no NOSTR expert, but it feels right that relay maintainers should be paid directly by users in a true value-for-value model, instead of relying on forced or indirect monetization.

Taking an AI course for high school teachers right now, and while learning the tools is intense, the part that really hit me is student responsibility: it’s not just about using AI, it’s about using it right. Just finished binge-watching “Il Mostro” on Netflix — a gripping take on one of Italy’s most famous and controversial true-crime cases. It stirred the uneasy fascination felt as a kid hearing about those murders. The knowledge of the English language is crucial nowadays and has become almost indispensable in the tech world, especially in the Bitcoin space. As a native Italian living in Italy, I really feel this need. I can understand written English fairly well, but when it comes to having a real conversation, that’s where the problems start, and the same happens when I watch a series or listen to a podcast. To stay informed and practice at the same time, I listen to podcasts, often slowing the playback down to 0.75x so I can follow more easily. Among the many I’ve tried, "Once Bitten!" di is definitely one of the shows I find easiest to understand, and I recommend it to anyone who, like me, wants to improve their English but doesn’t have daily opportunities to practice. That’s a really interesting point. Personally I’m a bit careful with strong conclusions from this kind of thing though: from the outside it’s hard to be sure what’s really going on behind a big platform. For me it’s just another reminder of why I like open, verifiable systems and building more of our own infrastructure instead of having to trust black boxes all the time.
