This article reminded me of something diaspora Egyptians do which if you want to send some to/from Egypt a thing you find someone who is traveling from/to Egypt [usually from facebook groups or from acquaintances] and you give him the shipment and he meets up with the person who should recieve the shipmen in the other country. Needless to say it's not sunshine and roses; the deliverer will often inspect the shipment and may reject it to avoid legal trouble.
