Which is also one of the reasons for the slow uptake.... You have to work nostr to build up a decent follow list, X and the others spoon feed you mainly to give you your dopamine fix. I am not sure "the masses" are up to the task.
Schnaps. Most any kind but definitely apple..... It did not help much that I was drinking multiple types that night, but the bottle of apple schnaps was what did me in and all I could taste.
Speaking as a non programmer (I write scripts to help in my job and day to day, ) AI gives those of us that have ideas, but no experience, or even interest frankly, in learning a programming language a tool to produce our vision. With AI as a programing partner we can focus on the task. It does of course come at the expense of a lot more mediocre programming. Less elegant code. An imperfect example is my experience on a farm. I have a shed full of tools, some professional level, I have access to YouTube vids and how to websites. I still suck at building even simple structures. AI takes programing to the next level, it is not as important that I understand how to program, but I still need to know how programs work. How the logic should flow, how to tell when AI is writing junk code. But I no longer need a team of programers specializing on specific aspects of my code. I no longer need to spend hours agonizing over programming a specific task in that program. Instead I can focus on features, on process, on marketing. The code may not be better, indeed it is often not, but it is out there, it works, it is supportable.
Steam is too of the gaming retail system because they are better then the compatition. They offer a product that benefits gamers and developers in a way that the compatition will not match. They are the only commercial product that enables me to run most games (I am exclusively Linux) without having to worry much about configuring wine on my own (using proton, their own managed version). I have used other venders (epic store, Ubisoft, battlenet) with various levels of support, but steam consistently is the better experience. Steam offers good prices, has an active customer base, has a good selection, and I can manage all my games from a single interface. . I am not tied to steam by necessity, but by choice, the other options are there but rarely needed.
You are right that it is the people. But it is not that we are a bunch of weirdos, people are just tired of all the interaction. You see it on x, facebook, etc as well. Social media, in general is only for the dopamine fix, if it requires any thought, people, in general, are not interested. By definition, NOSTR is trying to make an audience of people that want serious discussion, not mere click bait. The security aspects that make Nostr desirable only appeal to a small subset and the mental price is too high.
