In March, our KHW project manager travelled to Mali to visit our health and education projects. Meeting the children, talking to parents and local staff, and seeing the changes on the ground, especially the kids’ smiles, was a powerful reminder of why we do this. These visits matter. Sitting together with our local partners, we can speak openly, ask questions, and build real trust. Face to face is where true cultural understanding grows, and that’s the best way to make sure we’re responding to actual needs in Mali and in our other project countries. Finally, our on-site visits also help us monitor the projects better: we see what’s working, what’s not, and can catch problems early instead of reading about them in a report months later. Our children in Argentina are once again rehearsing their annual Christmas play at the Hogar Germán Frers daycare center. After weeks of practice and festive decorating, they’ll perform the traditional story in front of many familiar faces. One of our team members is spending the season there and witnessing how much joy and meaning this time brings to the kids. Our picture of the month comes directly from our project in Ecuador again: the PADE day center. During christmas time, they do not only crafts, sing, and laugh together at PADE; the center also fulfills heartfelt wishes for the children. Parents are included in trainings so home becomes safer and more stable too. A small local team has been there for more than ten years and knows the families by name.
