In March, our KHW project manager travelled to Mali to visit our health and education projects. Meeting the children, talking to parents and local staff, and seeing the changes on the ground, especially the kids’ smiles, was a powerful reminder of why we do this. These visits matter. Sitting together with our local partners, we can speak openly, ask questions, and build real trust. Face to face is where true cultural understanding grows, and that’s the best way to make sure we’re responding to actual needs in Mali and in our other project countries. Finally, our on-site visits also help us monitor the projects better: we see what’s working, what’s not, and can catch problems early instead of reading about them in a report months later.
