People resist being 'figured out' when that implies superiority. If someone knows you in a loving way, they will not say they 'figured you out' and you will not feel you need to resist it. People are complex and they change constantly. If someone says they figured you out that is an arrogant, disrespectful statement most of the time and it is likely to trigger resentment.
