In my opinion, the reason Europe is not doing well is that the leaders of Europe are compromised and they don't defend European interests, they defend American interests. Prime example is the war with Ukraine and how Europe abandoned its own energy security and interests including security interests and went and confronted itself and separated itself from Russia, which was entirely to America's best interest. A Europe in close partnership with Russia would have competed very effectively with both the US and China. Instead, it's leaders line up in front of Trump like school kids.
